The Dichotomy Of Pain

cyanotypes, 35 x 50 cm, 2014.

This sequence deals with the visible and invisible presence of pain. The focus is on their coexistence, on an absurd moment of harmony and disharmony. Although we expect the climax of pain in the end of the process, it is present in the first half by suggesting the interruption of pregnancy. Subtle approach to the technique points to the fragility of our subjective perception of the corporeality and pregnancy. This seria follows a pregnant woman bearing twin daughters. At the same time this dichotomy refers to another woman, also carrying twins at the same period, but who lost one of the girls.
